Welcome to Mukhtar Abdi’s personal website!

Who Am I?

I am Mukhtar Abdi, a hydrologist by training with a deep interest in modern GIS, remote sensing, geospatial data science, data analysis, information management, and machine learning. My journey in GIS began during my MSc program, where I took a GIS for Engineers course as part of the core curriculum.

My programming journey started in 2020 when I enrolled in R programming courses, which I later applied extensively during my MSc research, gaining valuable experience in R, spatial analysis, and data analysis.

The skills I developed during my MSc research include spatial analysis, R programming, data analysis, and statistical analysis. Since then, I have further improved my skills in GIS, remote sensing, Python, and geodatabases through self-learning. Currently, I am expanding my skill set by learning web GIS.

I am a firm believer that continuous self-learning is one of the most essential skill in this century.
